Science Outreach

“It is the responsibility of scientists never to suppress knowledge, no matter how awkward that knowledge is, no matter how it may bother those in power; we are not smart enough to decide which pieces of knowledge are permissible, and which are not. …”

― Carl Sagan

Coming soon...

Many people ask me, how the quantum world is different from the one we perceive daily. I am thinking about a project to teach the principles of a quantum search algorithm to teenagers. As soon as the project has materialized you'll read it here! Stay tuned...

Dialogue between Science and Religion

I gave an interview together with theologian Dr. Thomas Eggenberg in "Viertelstunde für den Glauben", a Swiss newspaper annually appearing before a Christian holiday. I spoke about how quantum mechanics transformed our daily life and the lack of ethical instruments in science. I touched on possible consequences that quantum mechanics has for deterministic theologies.

Bell's inequality & Theology

I organized a symposium (>50 attendants) with six (myself included) keynote speakers covering physics to psychology. We explored how churches can be relevant in the 21st century by combining scientific expertise with theology. I presented Bell's inequality and its consequences for our reality. Thereafter, I explored possible consequences for theological positions such as Calvinism and Open Theism.

Experimental demonstrations for children

I performed more than 10 different experiments at the Martin-Stiftung for children with special needs in Zürich. The experiments spanned superconducting levitation to Ruben's flame tube and were offered by the Wanderzirkus at ETH Zürich.

Talk & experimental Demonstration

Empiricism is among the foundations of modern science. Accompanied by experiments, I explained the principles of the laws of nature and explored how this idea could translate to theological questions at the example of Jesus' Sermon on the Mount.

My Outreach Heartbeat

Science outreach and communication has wide-ranging importance. For me, it starts at a dinner with blue-collar relatives and culminates with the COVID pandemic that painfully surfaced a latent crisis between science and the general public.
